While some people merely use their vacation as an excuse to have a fling, don’t dismiss the possibilities of meeting that special someone while you are away from home. Here are some tips to help you find a partner while you’re out exploring the wider world.
Try new things – Sometimes, a person can get stuck in a rut in their own home. A vacation is the perfect opportunity to step outside that rut, to stretch your horizons, to go outside your comfort zone. Who knows. It’s possible that’s where the love of life has been waiting all along.
Strike up conversations with strangers – While it’s not advisable to strike up a conversation with all the strangers you meet while traveling, consider talking with some of them. Maybe say hello to the friendly guy who gave you directions to the Parthenon. Ask him for other ideas of things to see. Chat up that girl who is also looking at the famous painting. See what her thoughts are on it. Even if it doesn’t end in love, at least you’ve had a little practice in conversation that might come in useful on your eventual first date.
Consider using an online dating site, even one based outside your home country – Depending on how long you are going to be traveling, you might consider using an online dating site like parship. While the serendipity of meeting in person can be fun, online dating can give you a more systematic, reliable means of meeting someone special.
Being on vacation can expose you to many new acquaintances, and there is always the chance that one of these people will ignite a spark – but only if you cultivate the flame.
